How can Microsoft fix its Windows 10 Updates?
Almost four years ago, Microsoft was very proud of its move towards "Windows as a Service." It certainly can boast, given its painfully slow update history through the unusual Service Pack. However, the willingness of Redmond to depict a business that can react rapidly to issues and feedback seems to have swung to the next extreme. Now it has to slow down and store its obviously disrupted update process so that the credibility remaining of Windows 10 is not drained. Get the windows 10 latest updates here
From tortoise to cheetah
Despite being the leading desktop operating system in the world, Windows from tortoise to cheetah is known for its safety troubles. Microsoft uses the very rigorous and rigid development of waterfall software in Microsoft's ancient method, which rigorously tested all changes to allow users to be left open to bugs much longer than they should.Bugs-as-a-Service
Microsoft has implemented a quicker cycle for Windows 10 to embrace more contemporary paradigms and mentalities. If the development form "as a service" was imitated, updates, probably fixes, would be constantly pushed out in roll cycles. However, while the releases were accelerated, insiders report that all Microsoft products stayed the same, including the development phase. And when you turn a slow-moving creature immediately into an untransitional velocity demon, sooner or later you will crash. And in the case of Microsoft, repeatedly.
Windows do have brave testers, but often during the testing period, they oddly don't hit such bugs. Either this period is too brief or there are insufficient testers for which Microsoft needs to alter its release schedules and procedures. To its credit,
Latest Windows 10 Update Problems and How to Fix Them.
Microsoft appears to be doing it, but it seems to be going to the opposite extreme just like its shift to a rolling release scheme.Changing constants
Some may point out that these update bugs are those most impacted by Windows 10 home users because Microsoft has virtually converted them to beta testers for company clients. That may not be wrong, but the fair share of Redmond headaches even for those paying clients. Windows 10 for business has provided nothing but modifications in an industry which needs stability and consistency.
Microsoft has altered the laws several times in four years since Windows 10 was launched on the market. Every shift carries with it fresh laws, new periods and new names incompatible with the past version. And while change is certainly good for the better, it doesn't just open the door to mistakes, changing quickly and incoherently raises doubts and uncertainties.
Agility, not haste
Microsoft defends its constantly changing strategies to respond to user feedback merely rapidly. That's the slogan of the agile development technique. But that is an over-simplification, too. While agile wives react rapidly, not all reactions change fast. Neither does it say that all feedback should be dealt with in any way.
Even in the fast pace of computer software, Haste produces waste. This is all the more so when millions, if not billions of pcs worldwide use this software. Microsoft certainly deserves to be congratulated for turning a new leaf and becoming a more responsive company, but ironically it can not listen to the greatest feedback: it slows down.
Tick Tock
After Windows 10 1903, a.k.a. update 19H1, Microsoft is practically in a break. Later this year, the next significant update focuses instead on polishing and fixing bug fixes. Such a trustworthy change, likely as its continuous approach, should be adopted.
Only once a year are the most main platforms published. It covers macOS, iOS and Android. Even many Linux distributions only have an annual rate and Ubuntu only has a solid Linux basis and a strong and active open source community to release a two-year release. Microsoft may have eaten more than it can chew without first testing if it can by using the same cycle. It couldn't and it's time for the last major transformation.
Wrap-up
Although Android exceeds Windows in the amount of Internet-connected devices, Microsoft operating systems continue to be a platform for most worldwide desktops and laptops, whether they are for customers, companies, colleges and even governments. Microsoft's cause to get together and clean up its Windows 10 updates mess is even more important. It's demonstrated that it can move quickly. It must be demonstrated now that it can be slowed down and coherent in quality, not only in strategies.
